The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Citizen Academy is a seven week program designed to give participants a firsthand look at the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department operations and allow them the opportunity to experience law enforcement from a Deputy Sheriff’s standpoint. Participants will ride along with deputies on the street, receive instruction in criminal and traffic law and be instructed in basic law enforcement procedures, as well as officer safety practices.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and be Kenosha County Residents. The most recent academy occurred in the fall of 2017 and was very successful. The Academy classes are weekly, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and held at the Public Safety Building 1000-55th St. Kenosha. Applications are accepted year-round.
